Happy Birthday Glossy Blooms

Template

1.  Cut an 11 x 6 inch piece of olive green cardstock.  

2.  Score vertically at 2-3/4", 5-1/2" and 8-1/4" from left edge.Use template and trim away top portion.

3.  Fold card accordian style so that front (smallest) panel is folded along left edge and opens on right side.

4.  Stamp blooms on glossy cardstock using Momento Tuxedo black. Let dry or heat set. Color using Copic   markers. I used RV02, RV06, RV09, BV01, BV04, Y13 and Y17.  Cut out blooms just outside of stamped lines.

5.  Plan Placement of Blooms on card.  For leaves use a flourish stamp inked with Distress Peeled Paint. Stamp under bloom placement areas and randomly on both sides of card.

6.  Use paint brush picking up ink from Distress pad and fill in leaves and add swirls.  Edge card with distress ink (Peeled Paint) using TH blending tool.

7.  Cut a 2-3/4" x 6" printed paper.  Ink edges with distress ink.  Stamp "Happy Birthday" on printed paper and adhere paper to panel on right side of card.

8.  Adhere flower blooms to card at placement points.

9.  Ribbon Closure:  Punch 2 circles 1-1/2" from printed paper.  Fold circles in half; cut a 1/2" slit in center of each on fold.  Cut ribbon in half; thread 1/2" of one end through slit in each circle.  Glue circles and ribbon ends over open edges of front and back panels near bottom.  Tie ribbons into a bow.

Good Thoughts

This card was made from a Hero Arts clear set that I recently purchased.  The set is called "Good Thoughts" and considering the recent events in my life I sure do need some "Good Thoughts". Looking forward to Thursday and our stamping group at the church.  I will be bringing this sample. Remember....good thoughts.

A new Stamping group

Announcing: Time:            Thursday, November 4th                       10:00 am until..... Place:            Powdersville Community Church                      Exit 40                                      Powdersville Community  Church: 200 Assembly Dr Piedmont, SC 29673-9434 (Gas station on corner of Assembly Dr. And 153. Go pass Waffle House and Hakkim Rugs and turn left) I now have the key for the church and the times of our  meeting is on the church calendar.  This Thursday I will  bring a few samples for us to work on.  Micki Switzer  is also going to bring a project/sample.  I have all my  samples and stamps that I had at the store so if there  was something you especially wanted to work on let me  know and I will bring it.  I intend to bring only new  samples at this time unless you contact me.  I will try and  get a supply list to you before Thursday.  I will only send  the supply list to those who will be attending.  If you have a  project to share please bring it. There is a full kitchen with microwave so if you want to  bring a lunch you can. Also we will only be one exit from  Eleanor's so those that want could make a quick shopping   trip. Saturday's will not be available until January.  The Monday  group will be meeting the second Monday of this month,  November 10th.   Also, it has been suggested that we might meet on an evening.   I have not passed this by the Pastor or Secretary but if there  is interest you might let me know which evening might be good.   To start with I am thinking once a month in the evenings?  REMINDER: there is no fee for use of the building but I am  sure they would not turn down a donation. See you there!

A door shuts another one opens...

We are not finished yet....I have permission from my church to meet in their dining hall. Lots of tables, lots of windows and right next to the church kitchen.  There is no charge for the use of the room but we will probably give a donation to help off set the electricity and cleaning of the room.  The day and time has not been firmed up yet and I am waiting for a consensus from the posting and email I have sent out.  I am thinking Friday or Monday, once a week.  I will teach Copics and Art Impression water color plus I have all the samples and stamps I used at the store.  I am also thinking it would be a good facility to invite other teachers to come.  The location is Powdersville Community Church at Exit 40.  More details to follow.

To everything there is a season....

Just wanted to let my friends here be aware that I will no longer be connected with Stamps and More by Eleanor.  I have given up my volunteer job at the store.  I am off to explore other opportunities and stretch my wings. I will now have more time to put things here on my blog.
One door closes and another will open.  I am excited about what the future will hold and what new avenues  will open up.  I welcome any comments.

Guest stampers - Mary Rozell and Ruth McGinley

Today  two customers, Mary and Ruth, came in to work in the classroom.  They have been there before.  They brought some "show and tell" to share with all of us and I was so blown away I wanted to run home and scan their cards to share with you.  The images, if I haven't posted them previously, I will add the copic marker "recipe" later.  Thanks Mary and Ruth for sharing your beautiful card making skills.  Enjoy!

Snowflake friends

Well we have gone from the heat of summer into fall but at the store we are thinking Christmas and everyone (well most) are coming in to work on Christmas cards.  Eleanor got this Penny Black stamp in and I just thought it was so cute I had to have it....that is I "needed it", right?  This morning at "dawn-thirty" I was wide awake and decided to play with my newest acquisition. I hope you like it.  Had a great time this past weekend getting to see old friends and making new ones. I hope you got to go to the Heirloom convention in Anderson, SC.  It was small but I sure saw lots of good stuff (and bought a few goodies) I was handicapped by Bank of America when my debit card was declined because BOA thought it must of been stolen since the charges were ringing up out of state. Grrrrrr. I know it is for my protection but sure wish they could come up with some other way of letting us know WHY it is being declined.
Ok...back to my tag.  Yes, I decided to try this one on a tag instead of the usual card. I used the R85 to edge the tag.  I also used copic markers to color the snowflake brads to match my tag.
