Thought for today.....

I am off to the store this morning. Going to take in my collection of "bookmark" stamps for the group to play with if they want. Got some good ones. I will scan and post some if I get time to play, too. In the meantime, I was looking at the B-Line Design website and found a quote I thought I would share. I think I need this stamp.....
"Time is a continual over-dropping of moments, which fall down, one upon the other and evaporate" J.P.Richter

Just a note: We are going to work up a "re-covering" class for the Copic Book. We are in the process of editing and printing some "Blending Families" pages to also be included in future printings and are available for a small cost covering fee. I am including in these pages my own favorites like, face, hair, pumpkin, sky, sunset, jean, rose, reds, turquoise, and what ever else I come up with before printing the pages. Email me or contact the store if you are interested. I am sure we will offer it more than once.....Have a great day!

Many of you know about the Copic Marker book that Roxanna and I developed to inventory the markers. It also includes several tutorials and product information along with a swatch section. A customer at the store that made one of our books (we sell them as a kit, a class or completed book) brought in her newly decorated book. (Not quite finished hence the temporary binding rings) I just thought it was awesome. Thanks Norma Lynn! You have inspired me. Anyone interested in "re-covering" their book? We are thinking about a class where we could work on new, updated covers and/or add swatch pages. Thinking of a cost of $5. If you would be interested in a class like this or a class on completing a new book please contact Stamps and More by Eleanor 864-295-2929.

This is the last image I have to upload for now. Who knows what tomorrow might bring.....

Stamp: Penny Black Purrfect Day 30-027

Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black

Copic Markers: B000, RV04, RV09, RV10,

G20, G21, G24, YR01, YR12, YR24, Y15

Thanks for looking at my Copic work and cards. Always appreciate your comments.

On this card I stamped the word "Thanks" on Graphic 45 LeRomantique 4500161 and then trimmed out the letters.
It is mounted on Bazzil Ivy and Guacamole card stock.
I used Adirondack ink ( lettuce) on the edge of the word after trimming it out.
The butterflies were cut out of the paper used above and then I coated them with Glossy Accents and attached with copper brads.
This is a word stamp from Art Impressions. On this card I stamped "Thanks" on Neenah solar white using Memento Tuxedo Black. Then using my copic markers (G40, G82 and G85) I feather blended in the letters. I used G85 on the bottom, G82 on the top (feathering to the center) and then G40 to blend them together.
I colored pearl buttons with the G85 and mounted them with Glossy Accents. The ribbon is double layered. The bottom layer is cream colored ribbon that I colored with G85 and G82 on the outside edges.

This is another Penny Black but is challenging. I did go extreme to get the lime green in the dress. Aren't they sweet. Wish I had seen this sooner for Mother's Day.
Stamp: Penny Black "rain or shine" 40-024
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black
Copic Markers: E01 E11 E000 N0 C00 Y00 Y21 Y38 YG01 YG07 R02 R22 R20 B60 B63 B66
Penny Black "Happy Day" 40-026

Note: I used the B60, 63 and 66 for the jeans. The stripes on the vest are drawn in by hand. The Y38 was used as a touch of orange in the cattails. I grew up where there were a lot of cattails and they do have orange in them. Also, I used the clear blending solution from the bottle and jean material to add texture to his jeans.
Stamp: Penny Black "Thinking of You"

Copic Markers: E0000 E00 E31 E35 E39 Y13 G20 G21 G24 N0 R01 R20 R22 R0000 BV0000 BV11 BV13
I have several of these so will just add the stamp and copic markers I used.

I tried to use the same markers in all these Penny Black images. There are some variations. Hope this helps.

Recently I was looking thru the Penny Black catalog at the store and saw these adorable stamps. Well they all came in last week. I love this one...it's my favorite because of the way the puppy is leaning against his buddy.

What an exciting weekend ahead. On Saturday a group of us are heading for Scrapbook Creations in Spartanburg, SC for classes with Sally Lynn McDonald who is a Regional Instructor with Copics.
Several will be taking her Copic 101 class (I already took this one and it is awesome) titled, "Who, What, and WOW!" Her other two classes are an Acrylic book class and a Tim Holtz tag class. Can't wait!!! Then on Sunday she is teaching a Copic certification class which I am repeating. Getting an update on products and refresher course. Several friends are taking this class for the first time. A fun, creative weekend ahead. I have several new samples I will be posting later tonight. If you want to see them in person come by Stamps and More by Eleanor. They are made using Penny Black new "Slapstick" unmounted rubber stamps. So cute and perfect with Copic markers. Also you might have noticed I changed the title of my blog so as not to conflict or be confused with another blog using Creative Journey in the title. Have a great weekend, I will post new samples tonight and post an update on the weekend by Monday.

Iris by Mary H.

Mary H. shared this image with me and I asked her if she would mind if I posted it here. I love the way she matted it with the nestibilites and used the technique where part of the image sticks outside the diecut. I also loved the contrast of the colors she chose. What do you think?

A new unmounted set from Art Impressions (Girlfriends UM-3577) This was so much fun to color though it did require quite a few Copic markers. Love this saying and there are 2 other sayings included in the set. A customer at the store today said she was going to stamp this twice making a larger card because there were eight ladies that she works with. A birthday card for a co-worker. Coloring them all different, and I suggested she add their names to the image. Great card.
Here are the copics I used: E000, E01, E13, E19, E21. R02, R20, R22, R24. G12, G14, G16. B000, B21. Y32, Y38. YR15, YR18. BG02, BG07. V12, V17. Co, C1. By the way, I used R02 on their shoulders so create a sunburn look.
This is a second sample from Great Impressions stamp of the month program for May. I used a Hero Arts stamp (H4946 Long Branch) and stamped it with Versa Mark Ink Pad to create the background on Bazzil cardstock/Grasshopper. The image (Great Impressions G367 Just Hanging Around) was stampedusing Momento Tuxedo Black on Neenah Solar White card stock. It was colored with Copic Markers: B0000, B21, B23, C00, C0, C1, C3, Y38, G24, R000, R21, E11, E15. The background was colored in using B0000. I also used the Copic Multi-liner pen 0.3 to add motion lines. I then mounted it on Bazzil Green Tea card stock. It was pop dotted using small (thin) pop dots. The words were matted on Grasshopper Bazzil card stock. I used two different sizes of pop dots so that the words would be pop dotted on top of the image. I used E11 to high light the words. It was then put on Bazzil Ruby Red card stock to create the card. Enjoy!

A Rainy Day

I've been rather busy lately working at the store. We had Copic Play Day Thursday and I did a short class on Design Elements of a Card. I also have been working on my Art Impression samples hoping to have 20 finished by May 10th. On top of that Eleanor has asked me to do a couple of the Great Impression SOTM samples. This is the first one I did.
Stamp:
Great Impressions G368 A Rainy Day
Great Impressions G402 Little Pleasures

Glossy Accents
Spica Orange (frog eyes)
Dew Drops (center of flowers)

Copic Markers:
E000, E01, E11, E13, E15, Y32, Y35, Y38, YG17, YG21, YG23, B0000, BG000, BG02, YR02, YR04, YR07
For the flower I used 3 the same size but different colors (coordinating w/card) and clipped off petals on the top two so that all three of the petal colors showed thru. The top flower is one of the generic flowers that Eleanor sells and then centered with a dew drop. More later.....
