Operation Write Home Blog Hop

Welcome to Memorial Day Sketch BlogHoppers!  This is the first time I have participated in this and I am excited and happy to be part of this event.
About two years ago my oldest grandson, Nick, a Marine MP, returned from duty in Afghanistan.
After months of anxiety this grandma could hardly wait to get my arms around him and hug his neck! So proud of you Nick!
This stamp by Art Impressions reminds me of that time when we all welcomed our sons and daughters, husbands and wives, home. The original image was stamped, colored with Copic markers and then reduced by 30% in order to fit the sketch.  I used sketch #43.
Thank you for bloghopping with OWH.

    1. Thanks for your kind words. Nick did not have it easy, went 3 months without a shower and we had no way of sending him mail. I guess that is why I believe in OWH so much.

  6. Great effort. Coloring is super, and your idea to reduce the image prior to coloring, so it would fit your card was genius. I'll have to remember that. The image fits the celebration occasion and background papers are just perfect. TFS

  18. What a fun image! I've been thinking of getting it for a group of us who go to lunch once a month. Great card, super coloring, and please thank your grandson for his service.

That photo of the two of you is my favorite part of your blog! I remember how stressful it was to have both our nephews doing multiple deployments. So much so that I ended up going to NY to explain to my publisher and agent why I had to stop writing military thrillers. Those stories were too close to home when our boys were in those same places I was writing about. SO GLAD your grandson returned safe.
