Tweet Talk

Hope you all had a good Father's Day spending time with family.  Unfortunately all our kids live a distance from us.  One lives in Rock Hill, SC and the other two live in Texas.  That's what we get for living 20 years in the "great state".  Sunday was a double holiday for us as we celebrated 46 years of marriage.  Spent it quietly going to church and with friends. Consequently I did not get a lot of Copic work done but I do have one image to share with you.

Penny Black "Tweet Talk"  40-022
Ink:  Momento Tuxedo Black
Copic Markers:
E0000, E00, R01 (skin)
E30, E31 (chair)
Y02, Y04 (bird)

Have a Great Day!

My Space

The Very Beginning
My first stamping work space was a shared room with my husband's home office.  I had a very small computer desk plus two drawers for stamping supplies.  More than enough storage room for my new hobby. That was the beginning of a fast paced journey.  In just a couple of years I went from that small space to converting our formal living room (15' x 25') into my growing need for storage, space AND organization.  It filled up quickly.  In 2007 we decided to sell our home and move into a 37 foot Fusion RV Toy Hauler to accommodate David's new consulting business and not knowing where this new business would take us..  The Toy Hauler model was my idea....it gave me 8' x 12' space to condense my home studio into a "portable" studio.  This required a lot of thought and preparation but also some drastic reduction decisions. (Heavens No...did not go on a diet!!) Through the experience I believe I have scaled down and used the space I have most efficiently even as my collection has grown..

My work Space
One of my best investments in this surgical reduction of my space was a desk purchased from Stamps and More by Eleanor which is made by The Best Scrapbook Shelf Company.  The top surface is extra wide...enough that two people could work facing each other.  This gave me 28" x 52" of surface space plus I choose to have twenty 1" drawers on each side.  On the right side I have all my word/verse stamps separated in categories and on the left side are all my Penny Black, Hero Arts, PSX wood mounted stamps in categories of flowers, leaves, trees, etc.  Currently on the top of my desk I have The Best Scrapbook Shelf cubes which hold a supply of basic car dstock and stamping supplies.  I keep my Genesis 12"  paper cutter on a table to my left.along with my card size Scor-it stored under the Genesis. Everyone's space and needs are different but as basic needs for all rubber stamp artists. That will have to wait for another post as my posting time is gone.  Got to get to the store.  Have a great day and check back soon!

English Countryside Watercolor

I have been working on my next batch of water color samples to send into Art Impressions. Finished the watercoloring last night....these are not done with Copic markers but with Marvy markers and water using either a palette and a brush or direct to rubber stamping. They aren't due until July 10th. Sure feels good to have them done. I still need to mat them and make them into a card....but that's the easy part. Also, Eleanor, Micki and myself got our heads together yesterday and scheduled some classes. I will post them here later.

But, the first Wednesday of the month will be doing water color "The Art Impressions Way". If you have ever wanted to get your paint brush wet and play with water color....come to the store the first Wednesday of the month for a FREE class....by me. If you have Marvy markers, water color paper, Heritage Sepia ink pad, and any Art Impressions stamps or stamp sets you would like to use....bring them. Otherwise you can pick from my collection of stamps.

Design Team

It's official. Art Impressions has my picture and bio listing me as a member of their design team. I still can't believe it. Whole new adventure for this grandma. Got to have my samples done by tomorrow....might be a long night Sunday if I don't get crackin'

It was good spending time with my friend Dorothy at the store today. She is a member of our Altered Book Club...very creative.....and a real nut! Thanks, Dorothy. Also want to thank Sam for coming in with his mom Micki...takes a lot of courage to hang around a bunch of "old" ladies but you brightened my day, Sam.

We got two orders of Copic Markers in the store this past Thursday and another order coming next Thursday. We also have a reinker station now. If you don't have appointments or responsiblities holding you back come in Thursday, get the best pick at the best price for Copics and spend the day playing with other Copic addicts in the classroom. We have fun! Stamps and More by Eleanor, Piedmont, SC. If you can't come on Thursday, there is always Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday or Saturday. I'll be there most of the time.

I will have another posting soon with a picture scan.
