Glitter Ritz with Peel-off stickers or Scor Tape

This past Saturday, I had the opportunity to take a class with some friends learning the technique using Glitter Ritz and Peel-off stickers. I enjoyed learning a new technique (haven't been a fan of glitter) but this was really fun and easy to get good results.
It is a little confusing at first because it involves a sticky transfer paper and then a special double stick tape. Our teacher was very patient and gave clear instructions so we all sailed right through the process.
The first card is colored totally with glitter:

Water color Vegetable Cart from Art Impressions

I love water color and when I was introduced to water color via Art Impressions, I was hooked. Here was a technique that me, with no art training, could enjoy water coloring and get results with which I was happy.

Bonnie Krebs, owner of Art Impressions has several videos on youtube . I love the videos and the way Bonnie presents this technique that she developed. You can teach yourself simply by watching and pausing as you go.

I was lucky to be able to take some classes offered in my area but I also learned by purchasing the technique books, buying the necessary stamps and supplies, and working and completing each project for every available book.

So, if you would like to explore water color you don't need the excuse of no classes being offered in your area. With the videos and the great technique books offered by Art Imprsession you can create works of art that can be used in cards, scrapbooks, paper craft projects such as book making or simply framed and given as gifts. As promised here are the next set of 3 tags. Tag #4, tag #5 and tag #6 from left to right in the picture. I really enjoyed making these tags, all different, all fun and I liked the results. Learned alot too. Imagine, we use to think working with cardstock was fun...my, how our creative world has expanded thanks to Tim and others. Much more colorful (Copics) and creative (grungeboard) and fun (Cricut, Eclips, Spellbinder). Things sure have changed.....and for the better, I think.

Tim Holtz Ink blending tool sponge storage

One of the advantages of our meeting at the Powdersville Community church with our "Truly Laughing Stampers" is the tips and tricks that we swap and the knowledge we gain from each other. This tip was shared at our group and I am sorry but I don't know the originator of the idea....but thought you might be interested.

It's very simple. Attach the sponge used with the Tim Holtz blending tool to the back of the ink pad with the "loop" side of the velcro. (I used red line tape) The sponges already have the backing on them that will attach to the loops. This way you can have a sponge that works with each ink pad and you only need one blending tool.

I am playing catch-up but I am determined to complete Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas 2011. This is my 5th year of doing these tags and now that he has retired this series of Tags I am recommitting myself to finishing all 12. I now have 3 done and as always they are so much fun to do. Yes, he uses ALOT of product in each tag, but there is also multiple techniques and each one teaches so much. Dear Blogger friends, today I intended to work on Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas 2011. Instead I got side tracked when I went to pull out the distress stain that I needed for Tag #2. I decided to share my project with you and maybe it would help you, too.
Recently I had completed the line of Tim Holtz' Distress Stains, of which there are 37 different colors. I store all of them in a plastic container. I want to be able to pick them all up at once and my shelf space is limited so I am not able to store them so I can see the labels.
When I realized that I had to search thru each one to find the one I needed I decided I had to have a solution.

1. First I put all the stains in alphabetical order.
2. Using a sheet of address labels I briefly identified each stain color on the sheet of labels...2 colors per label.
3. Place a nickle size dot of each stain next to it's identification.
4. Use a 1/4" round punch to punch out each stain and place on top of corresponding bottle of stain.

This past week I received my order from Loralie which were from her new release of art stamps. This one jumped out at me and I just had to color it first. I used Copic markers of course, (is there any other kind of marker anymore?). Loralie Art Stamps are definitely different and work so well with Copic Markers. Tilda with a gift

Last night I was up until 1:30 working on a tiarra and a birthday card for our one an only granddaughter. Her birthday is on February 17th so I had to get focused and get it done. I decided on this Magnolia image of Tilda with a gift behind her back. I was too tired to post this at 1:30 so here it is now. Sorry I didn't take a picture of the tiarra ....it really turned out cute with lots of bling and glitter. Hopefully this grandma with get a picture of the birthday girl on her birthday wearing it. It's been awhile since I posted an Art Impressions stamp. No joke, this was not an easy one to color and required many different Copic markers. I tried to keep the number of markers I used to a minimum but this is a large stamp. I would suggest that when you do this image that you divide it up into 5 smaller ones. Small bites.
Remember that when using a stamp you don't have to use all of the image. This would be a good one to divide up into single or partial images. All that said, this is a fun stamp and I hope you enjoy it. Remember Art Impressions stamps can be purchased on line at www.artimpressions.com if your local stamp store does not carry Art Impressions or ask them to order it for you. My Sizzix Eclips

For a long time I have resisted purchasing any of the electronic cutting machines on the market (Cricut, Sillouhette) because I could not justify the expense. Well when I saw Tim's video and the Stamp2cut system all my excuses went out the window.

After searching the internet that night. this was ordered on line at www.ohmycrafts.com. Their price convinced me to take the plunge. Retail for this machine is $499 and they have it for $259 plus 2 free cartridges and free shipping. Here is a picture in my stamp room. It arrived well packaged and easy to set up. I was able to test drive it with the 2 cartridges included in the set. I found it very user friendly and It worked great. Now I have to wait for the first release of the Stamp2Cut system. I already have all his stamps. Look for some samples of Tim Holtz stamps and die cuts using the Eclips and Stamp2Cut system in the near future. Whooo Hooooo!

What a beautiful day we had here in South Carolina. Sunshine, blue skies and temperatures in the 60's called me outside several times. My post this evening is a water color I worked on today. This company www.joannasheen.com is located in Devon, England. This was purchased at www.Oozak.com (one of my top favorite websites).
I used Marvy Markers with a #5 brush and white palette to color this image. After I finished it I sealed it with MicroGlaze, a product of JudiKins, which is a jar of waxy substance that is rubbed over the surface and then I use a paper towel or cloth to polish and smooth. This way the water color is protected from any accidental wet splashes. The finished image is 6-1/4" x 4-1/2".

I loved this stamp because this little girl just has spunk! Maybe even a little sassy, too. She was fun to color but I did challenge myself on the dress. I colored the dressed using the BG's and then added in some Greens in different places. Kind of reminded me of the old taffeta dresses and skirts I wore as a kid. Guess I am dating myself. Anyhow, I was glad to finally have the time to color this image. Got a few more waiting in the wings. Hope to post again soon.....

Today I decided to make a card....no surprise you say? Well if you knew everything I should of been doing you would of said, "Are you crazy?" Yep..guess I am. One of the things I try to do here is to challenge myself in doing cards that look different. I sure hope I do that. I don't want my blogger guests to be bored and I hope I surprise you every once in awhile. So here is another one....Let me know what you think.

I cut this card base 4-1/4" x 11" on a sherbet Bazzil cardstock and folded it to make a tent fold card. I edged the front using my Ink Applicator and Distress Ink Stormy Sky. The image is from Graphic 45 ABC Primer collection "Happy Go Lucky" #4500388. I trimmed it out and distressed the edge with Walnut Stain and my ink applicator. Then it was attached it to a piece of dark green cardstock and trimmed the green leaving about 1/16" border. The brown crinkled background was created using Tim Holtz' Kraft Glassine paper. I spritzed it with water, crinkled it up and then opened it up flat and using a craft iron to dry it. Don't try using double sided tape to attach this glassine paper. It won't work. I used Crafter's pick glue to attach it to the card base. Oh, the floral embellishment was colored with my Copic markers so it would coordinate with the image. Y38, G29 and W9. Also I used glossy accents to create rain drops on the umbrella. Thanks for looking! Any questions leave me a comment and I will reply.

Today I was at a new scrapbook store in Greenville, SC called The Whimsy and it is located on Woodruff Road. We started doing Tim Holt'z 12 tags of Christmas 2011 and today was tag #1 so I thought I would share that with you. Art Impressions Chocolate Shoppe

Good evening blogger friends! The Chocolate Shoppe card is finally finished. This stamp set has an outside/inside stamps so I had to figure out how I was going to engineer this card. After a couple of failures I finally decided on this keeper. I used the Swing card which makes it easy to see both the outside and inside. I hope the scans I made will show this card.
This is got to be a record for the number of Copic markers I used for a single card but because of the stamps used, I felt that many was required to get the shading I like. You can reduce the number of markers by using 2 colors instead of 3 for shading. Just make sure that you choose the markers that give you a greater contrast for blending. Also, remember that Copic markers are translucent and you can layer to get a darker shade. I hope I haven't made this too confusing. Any questions, pro or con, please leave comments. Had a wonderful time at our card workshop at the church today. With the holidays behind us many stampers that we haven't seen for awhile were able to come. We didn't meet during December so it was so good to be back together again. I had this last Loralie stamp that I hadn't used yet so it was what I took to work on. I picked colors that I don't normally use. I used those blues and greens to pick out the papers for this card. The panel of stripped paper was set off using my Scor-pal. The four smaller petals were popped up with glue dots.
I created consistency by picking papers that had dots and stripes. I also picked a "hello" stamp that had a flourish font to go with the bling.

What in the World have you been up to?

This is a card I did last night. I used two new stamps from Impression Obesession. My goal this year is to use my stamps, to at least make samples for each one. When I saw this chicken on the IO website I had to have it...but had no clue how or what I would do with it. I used the internet and did a search on colors of chickens and got more than I wanted. When I saw a picture of the Orpington chicken I liked the colors.

Anyhow, I wanted you to know what inspired me and how I got the colors for this card. I wanted to add a little humor to my blog. Hope you like this card...sure made me chuckle! Or should I say "cluckle"!!

Card for my Grandson

Ok stampers I do have to explain this one. My oldest Grandson, former Marine and having done a tour of duty in Afghanistan has chosen a career that might not be agreeable to everyone but after what he has been through I figure he is old enough to make his own decisions and has the right to do so. He is currently apprenticing at a tattoo shop in North Carolina. He is a good artist. So I had to make a card that would appeal to him, right? Well this was totally out of my normal card making style. What do you think?

I used the Cuttlebug Diamond Plate to make the background using metal adhesive back paper, matted on red cardstock and put on a black card. The sticker is by EK success/Sticko and are dimensional. I put the sticker on red cardstock and trimmed around it. I used a folded piece of acrylic to pop it up so that it moves (wiggles). The back ground is another sticker and is from Heidi Swapp called Damask #HS64203. He loved it and the best part was what he said after I gave it to him, "Grandma, I will keep it forever!"

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, from our home in Anderson, SC to your's where every you are. This is our first Christmas in our home and we are enjoying our first fire in our fireplace tonight. We are also enjoying the company of our oldest grandson, Nick, who is now a former Marine and did a tour of duty in Afghanistan. Thanks Nick, not only for your service to our country but spending time with us. We love you very much. Christmas blessings to everyone.

This is a card I made for the Hero Arts Catalog Debut party at The Mercantile in Pendleton, SC this coming Saturday, December 17th. If you are within driving distance come by for some Mulled Cider, Ravens Nest Dip, Cookies and Cake. There will be new catalogs to purchase or peruse, as well as some of the new Hero Arts stamp and die sets. This is one of those sets where you stamp the image and then cut it out with the matching die. Works great! If you haven't been to Pendleton lately the square is all decked out for Christmas and the stores are open. The Bakery is a great place for lunch. Come relax and savor some small town atmosphere.

Christmas Cardinals

I was asked what Copic Reds I would use to color cardinals. I have this sample I had done some time back and thought I had posted it but I couldn't find it so here it is. Remember when coloring an image that has red in it to always color the red part first. Reds are the hardest color to get right and the easiest to mess up. So if you color the red part first and mess up you haven't wasted time and no guilt or frustration in starting over. Be patient with your self and practice practice practice. This I am speaking from experience!

Here we are in the Christmas season...where did this year go??? A couple of months back I ordered this Penny Black Antique Santa from The Mercantile with all good intentions of coloring it up when it came in. Well I have had it almost 2 months and here we are on December 3rd. I loved this stamp when I saw it in the catalog. Hope you do too! One more thing, the cane Santa is carrying I stamped just the cane and his mitten a second time and after coloring it with the Copics I fussy cut it and popped it up with glue dots.

Thanksgiving Greeting

So sorry bloggers....my husband and I went on an extended trip from our home in South Carolina we traveled west (in our Prius) to Texas, spent time with our son, his wife and our 4 grandchildren, then traveled to Wichita Falls, Tx. and visited with our daughter, now a Major in the Air Force, her husband and 2 grandchildren before we headed north. Our destination was Butte, Montana where my husband is consulting with a company there. We spent a week in Butte and then retraced our trip home, seeing family for one more time. We left on October 7th and returned home on November 1st, total miles traveled 5000. Saw a lot of this country between here and there, and was very happy to be home again. If you are friends with me on face book you will have seen some of the pictures and videos we took along the way. The hardest part was being away from my stamp room, and while in Butte, no internet and no television. I had my cell phone to connect to the world and I got a new Droid so that I finally did have internet service but no way to scan or upload pictures. It was an experience, worth it, but sure don't want to travel that far for so long again.
I have been busy trying to catch up with my chores, laundry, and even unpacking boxes that were stacked in the garage since July. Sorry to have neglected this blog...hope to make up for it.

Busy Doing Nothing

A couple of weeks ago I was looking thru a merchant's catalog that had various stamp companies. I spotted this little girl picking flowers and had to have it. This is a first for me from this stamp company but I loved the dress and the profile of the little girl and just knew it would color up nicely using the Copic markers. I colored the whole image using the Copic markers. Then I stamped the jar of flowers on a scrap piece of card stock, colored it, and then trimmed it out. I covered the jar with Glossy accents and when dry added Flower soft accents and popped it up with dots..
It's after midnight now so I am calling it quits for the evening. Tomorrow is card workshop at Powdersville Community Church with the Truly Laughing Stampers. Good night bloggers....

I'm working late again tonight...seems to be my best time to work. I did the coloring on this image from Art Impressions on Tuesday while I was at the Paper Rabbit in Greenwood, so this evening I made it into a card. Don't you just love these girlfriends? I love the way they are all sharing the umbrella. With the high temperatures everyone across the country has been experiencing, I sure wish we had a reason to get out the umbrella! Lady on a Scooter

I'm getting ready for tomorrow's workshop at the Powdersville Community church and I am about to turn out all the lights and get some sleep. I have changed the start time starting tomorrow to 11am which will give me a little more time to prepare in the morning and arrive early. It takes me about 20 minutes to drive from Anderson, SC where I was 5 minutes from the church.

Today was the workshop at Powdersville Community Church and so I had some time to do some Copic coloring and card making. Since we just moved into a house after living in our RV for 5 years, we had to get the lawn mower working again...take it out of retirement...and put it back to work. The grass had grown a foot or more while the repairs were done and with the high temperatures we have been experiencing I dedicate this card to my husband, David. Sure glad I didn't have to be out there sweating in this 100 degree temps. In the evenings it did cool down to 90. Bless his heart!

This is the new embossing mat that I mentioned on facebook. It is distributed by scor-pal (www.scor-pal.com) and will flatten bottle caps, emboss charms, and press flowers on cardstock. Another tool and us girls love our tools! I was able to purchase one so we can play with it on Thursday. Ok...back to the laundry.

On the road again....or another day of curses and BLESSINGS!

We started our day at 6am after having 4 hours of sleep. Had to load up our stuff in the car, lots of stuff, but got everything done in an hour so we had a leisurely breakfast in the hotel lobby waiting for the shuttle to the convention. Micki and I were the first ones on so we got the two seats up front on the opposite side of the bus driver.
The next stop was the Intercontinental Hotel to pick up other convention Cha goers. The bus driver slowed down, had his turn signal on to turn right into the hotel and in a split second there was this horrible sqreeching noise. It was then I noticed a white wall flying past us on the right side. It was a delivery truck and it was forced to go up on the curb and across the front of the bus to the right. Yep...we had just been in a bus accident! Micki was sitting next to the window and it passed her on the outside with just inches to spare. My right ear took a couple of hours to return to normal. They got another shuttle to take us on to the convention. No one had been injured and that was a blessing. Micki took pictures of the bus and I will post them either Friday night or Saturday.
We had a busy next few hours placing orders, taking pictures and trying to look at as much merchandise as we could. Lunches there (and who has time to leave) are very high priced. Sandwich, chips and a cold drink will run you $12 each. The afternoon was just as busy and I would snatch times to sit down and put my feet up. The Art Impressions booth had a nice area for us to sit at tables and have a snack and rest our feet. It was during one of those "resting" times that I noticed Colleen Schaan at the AI booth so I went over to say hi. I was introduced to the editor of Card Maker magazine. And guess what....she wants me to send her some of my stuff to publish! I about melted right there on the floor!! So we will see what happens. Bonnie (Art Impressions owner) told me that they want to feature the Art Impressions line. Now that is a big Blessing!
Micki placed some more orders with product lines some of which you will be familiar with and some you won't but let me tell you that you will love them ALL!
Oh, not to be a name dropper but Micki got to get Tim's autograph and picture. Then she got to do a sample chart of Claudine Helmuth's product so I got Micki's picture with Claudine. Oh, almost forgot, Micki said that Marianne Walker took her order for the Shapes and Shadows Copic book. We finished out the day back at the Art Impressions booth where Micki was able to pick up some stamps at a really good price and so did I. What a joy it was to get to meet the Kreb's family. They are all just the best and greatest and I want to thank them for all the kindness they showed this grandma at her first Cha.
We are out of Chicago and spending the night at a Comfort Suite...South Carolina we will be back soon!

Another day at CHA (3)

I am so tired I could sleep standing up! Can't tell you how many miles I have walked on the convention floor and all we hear from the experienced Cha attendees is how much smaller this convention is compared to years past. Believe me if this is small I sure don't want to see big.
Micki and I have been up late every night, going thru catalogs and making decisions on what to order. With a whole store to fill (2600 sq. ft.) it is a majorly overwhelming task. This afternoon Micki closed an order for card stock and specialty paper...250 different ones. Right now we are looking at Hot Off the Press, Ranger, Heidi Swapp, Little Yellow Bicyle, Canvas Home Basics, Tim Holtz, Just Rite, Graphic 45, Art Impressions, May Arts ribbon, October Afternoon, Plus Corporation (adhesive), Candy Dots, Flower Soft, Heartfelt Creations, Art-C, Purrs and Pants and on and on. You get the idea. So many to choose from and all the displays are AMAZING!
There are drawings going on all the time...too many to enter for this novice. Make and takes and mini-classes happening all day long at different booths. Trade shows sure are different from the usual conventions I have ever been. Here they practically pull you in to their booth to make deals. You really have to be johnny-on-the-spot to get the freebies. I guess my best freebie was two Tim Holtz aprons. Went back this morning to try and get more and they were all gone.

Micki has been busy attending marketing and business classes, networking with other experienced and novice store owners and in her spare time meeting with vendors and representatives. We are trying to take small bites of this Big apple but it is so easy to find yourself overwhelmed and head swimming. I guess my highlight of the day was to spend time visiting with Marianne Walker at the Copic's booth. Speaking of copics, Micki got an email that her huge Copic order and special display has been shipped! Woo hooooo. It's coming together girls!!
Tomorrow we have to be at the doors of the convention earlier. They open at 9am and close at 4pm. We have mapped out where we need to go first and who goes where. I knew I should of worn roller skates!!!
Sorry about the long wait on pictures but we will be home Friday night for sure. We are checking out of the hotel in the morning and then taking the shuttle from the hotel to the convention center. We should be heading south before 5:00. Hoping and praying that we have done all we could possibly do.
Things are going well at home at the store and the plumber has been there installing a second bathroom (required by code) Russell has installed more slat board and lights. When we get back we will have to hit the floor running to finish decorating and inventorying and putting out product as it comes in. The cash register is in place, AC is working great, the broken closer on the front door has been repaired. Lots of cleaning and painting was done before we left and the gondolas and paper racks were in put place. Lots and lots going on and hopefully it will all come together the first part of August.
No calamities to report today. It's a wonder because we are both brain dead. Last day tomorrow.... g'nite.

Adventures at CHA day 2

What an exciting day! From the crowds waiting for the convention to open and then squeezing thru the entrance like pouring thru a funnel to seeing two Scottish gentlemen in kilts we started the day off in total awe. Micki and I split up so she could talk to vendors and place orders and I scoped out every vendor I could get to, picking up catalogs, freebes, and doing make and takes. The convention floor is nothing like I have ever seen even after years of attending scrapbook/stamping conventions. All the displays were so inspiring and yes, I was walking around drooling. Now remember this is a trade show so I personally could buy NOTHING...and at the same time wanting it ALL!

The first place I headed for was the Art Impressions booth 2123 and got to meet Kendra and Phil. Bonnie was talking with a customer so I came back later and met her face to face. She really is an amazing woman. We will be here for 2 more days so I will be going back there again.

The next stop was....Tim Holtz Ideaology booth and he was signing autographs and the line was short. Before I knew it I was up there and he was asking me my name. The girl behind me in line took a couple of pictures with my camera but I have no way to download and post them here. I will be doing that this coming weekend.

Just a note that I saw other friends on the convention floor, Colleen Schaan, Sally McDonald, and Suzanne Dean. Not such a strange place when you see good people like that.

Ok...so now I have to tell you a funny. After the session ended today Micki wanted to go get a Chicago hotdog at a restaurant called Protillo's. We put the address into the Prius and it told us to get on the toll road. We drove on the toll road and the gps told us to immediately exit ($.80 please). We paid the toll and exited and the gps then told us to get back on the toll road going in another direction. LESSON LEARNED: Use the gps app that says "don't allow toll roads". When we eliminated the toll road it then directed us on a side street right back to the convention site and our hotel. The restaurant was in the opposite direction and only 4 miles away instead of the 8 original miles. The restaurant was great and worth the hassle. Pictures coming soon.

Well...this puppy is tired and I need lots of rest for another long day....of fun!

Adventures at CHA

Hello from Chicago...what a trip! Tomorrow the convention officially starts at 10am central time and Micki and I have mapped out our strategy and we will have our running shoes on! If I am not totally wiped out tomorrow night I will post again. Meanwhile here is an update of our adventure so far....

Lessons learned from attending CHA or Curses and Blessings!

Curses:

Forgot to print tickets
Micki thought she left her purse 4 hours back at the Cracker Barrel.
Couldn’t find Micki’s meds.
Micki forgot her toothbrush.
Parking ticket wasn’t validated correctly.
Micki didn’t have her phone charger.
Mary lost her cell phone.
Micki forgot camera battery.
Extension cord needed was too old to work.
Mary dragged satellite radio antenna out of the car and Micki drove off not realizing it.

Blessings:

Tickets got printed in Wisconsin thanks to Russell faxing them.
Purse was found under my feet in the back seat.
Meds were found in Micki’s backpack.
Toothbrush purchased at Walmart.
Returned to Hotel lobby to have parking ticket validated correctly.
Purchased new phone charger at Walmart.
Good Samaritan turned in phone…praise the Lord!
Mary had camera that Micki could use.
Learned to bring a better extension cord.
Satellite antenna had strong magnet and attached itself outside of door. No damage done.

Convention starts tomorrow…..stay tuned.

Pretty Woman

Good morning from Wisconsin. Micki and I arrived here yesterday to bring her mother home. On Sunday we will be leaving for Chicago to attend CHA, and in case you don't know what CHA is, it stands for Craft and Hobby Association and on Monday 3 days of fun begin. It is the summer trade show and the showing of all the new products. Hope my feet hold up....I understand it is HUGE and overwhelming for the novice....
Now..to my posting. Micki took the picture...didn't she do a great job! Don't tell her but I think I will have her take pictures of all my cards in the future. And btw, when she gets her shop opened, she will be doing that photography for anyone! www.easyascatsoup.com
This card will be submitted on the Art Impressions blog next Wednesday for the next challenge...stitching. The first layer of paper was stitched to the base card. I used Spellbinders label One behind the Lady. The image(Art Impressions "Lady" P-2147 was colored with Copics (E000, E02, R02, E25, E19, BG0000, BG02, BG04). The ribbon is Hug Snug seem binding from Zipperstop and colored with a spritz combo of distress ink refill and pearl ex. Tim Holtz used this as ribbon and colored it with distress ink and it works great. It is also CHEAP! 100 yards on a spool and I think it costs about $12. I called them to order it and they were very friendly and very quick on delivery. I also used a Martha Steward punch. Sorry but all those exact items I used are at home and I am not. It was learning how to water color using Art Impression stamps that took my card making to a new level. I discovered that I could use these stamps to create not just cards but small pieces that looked like art….and so easily. I love using the individual stamps to create multiple scenes. We all need value for our purchases.

If you have not tried this technique I encourage you to do so. The stamps are now available in sets and Bonnie has produced a DVD that actually works with each of the 3 sets allowing you to create so many different scenes….and that is just the beginning. If you have watched her water color on utube you know how easy she makes it to follow step by step. Whether you purchase the DVD or not I would advise you to buy the water color pamphlets that are available. There you will find easy step by step instruction giving you everything you need to know to make your own scenes. So what are you waiting for….…

Well guess you figured I had given up posting on this blog! Just was way too busy. We moved out of the RV we had lived in for the past 5 years and I got to get all our possessions out of storage.Five years is a long time and it was like Christmas around here, every box I opened I was saying, "Wow, I forgot I had THAT!"
We got most everything moved in a week thanks to some good friends and a grandson, Nick, who all put up with monstrous heat temperatures to get everything loaded, unloaded and even had help unpacking. My good friend Micki even helped get my kitchen together. The worst part was that at the end of that week my husband left for 2 weeks for a job in Montana. Everything is beginning to get settled and I am sure enjoying our new home.
Today I took a break from boxes and made this card. It is a card that will be posted for the upcoming challenge on the Art Impressions blog. It was nice to get back to creating and playing once more. I love my new stamp room and when it's finished I will post some pictures.

All I can say is I am plum worn out to a frazzel! But, it was the most fun, awesome day, and fab classes! Love the Hilton Hotel here. Super nice. We got a suite, large rooms, and we are on the 16th floor. Great view of the city. I've been very impressed with this place, people friendly and the streets are very clean. We have felt safe and the accommodations are exceptional.
But, back to the classes...oh my gosh! We did so much my head was spinning. Covered a lot of different techniques

Copic markers - working with Reds

Good morning bloggers! I am up early ...like Christmas when I was young....as my bags are packed and will be leaving in a couple hours for Indianapolis, Indiana to attend another Copic class. This one is Altered Art/Mixed Media with Copic Markers taught by Colleen Schaan and Biance Mandity, Regional Art Instructors with Copic Markers.. I love altered art for various reasons but now I can't wait to see how to use my markers in this venue. I will report back here at the end of the day as I am taking my lap top with me. In the meantime.....
Here is another image from the Copic Intermediate Certification class....working with reds. I don't know about you but I love coloring with reds but sometimes reds don't love me so much. Maybe I try too hard but of all the colors, I have the hardest time blending red. Here are some of the ideas that Colleen Schann, Regional instructor with Copics, shared with us:

Work on an absorbent surface. Try using something other than scratch paper under your work...For example...paper towel or tissue paper.
Try a different paper. Neenah is a softer side of the card stock papers.. Bazzil Simply Smooth won't bleed as much but then it might be harder to blend. Experiment with different papers and see if this will help.
Use less ink. Don't soak thru the paper as much when blending. Stay on the surface and if it looks good then that's good enough. Ignore the back of the paper. Red is such a strong, vibrant color and it soaks into the paper quicker and completely fills it up.
Try feather blending ....instead of circles. Coloring in circles really lays a lot of ink on the paper. Feather blending uses less ink and thus may cure the bleed problem
Let the base layer dry.....before adding blending colors.....slow down.
When working on an image...color the reds first. That way if it does bleed out you haven't wasted a lot of time/work and energy....not to mention ink.
Finally...avoid working right up to the edge of an image. Often an ink will bleed after you have completed it. Coloring up close to but not touching the edge of an image might work.

I know I gained a lot of good information at the Intermediate certification. If you already have your basic Copic Certification...don't hesitate to go for the Intermediate level. You will love it!

Copic Skin Tones

At the recent Copic Intermediate certification we did a lot of coloring and challenged on many levels. Skin tones was one of those challenges. This is an image from the student manual for practicing skin tones...specifically using more than 3 colors. In this facial image I used the 9 colors suggested in the manual: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13, E15, E04, E93 and BV00. When all you have ever used is the basic 3 this really was a leap for me.....but I really like the look. I must tell you this was my first attempt so don't look too close. My blending and shading is not perfect but I wanted to post this to challenge you, too. One thing, when you are using this many colors you want a larger image to work on. When you do, don't be afraid...it's only paper! And practice, practice, practice!

Copic Intermediate Certification

We made it! My friend Micki and I drove to Columbus, Ohio this past Thursday to attend the Copic Intermediate Certification class being taught by Colleen Schaan, Copic Regional Instructor. What a Blast!! It was an awesome class, on pace, power point instructions, lots of goodies from Copic and a fun, empowering, and educational class. You might notice the new Copic blinkie now on this blog. I am posting this image of Lilacs so you can see how we were challenged. I highly recommend this class, worth the cost, and do not be afraid of the coloring form needed as part of the application. They only need to see that you have been practicing and learning how to use the markers and have knowledge of the basic skills. If I got in anyone can.....so go for it!You won't regret it. I heard that an intermediate class might be coming to the Atlanta area this fall. Just go to the Copic website, click on instructors and certification and fill out the form to be notified when a class opens up near you. You must of completed the basic certification to be considered for this next level.
This image is not a stamp but drawn by Marianne Walker, Copic product specialist/product director. We learned Shading, Shadows and Cast Shadows, Shadow color theory, and properties of light and shadow. All that was just one part of a 5 part program.

One of those days....!

I taught at The Mercantile Store in Pendleton, SC this morning. It was another Art Impressions water color class and we focused on sky, ocean and sand and then they picked how they wanted to finish the picture using different stamps. Everyone did something different and it was a lot of fun to see the variety and creativity and also talent at work. We had a good time together. A big thank you to Cindy and Terry for making it so. Love this store. Also I need to state here that this coming Saturday I will be at The Mercantile doing Copic make and take. If you missed this during the Spring Fling the first of April here is your chance. If you were there for the first event...then come on back and you can have a second go!
While at The Mercantile they got in May's shipment and board of the stamp of the month by Great Impressions. It won't show up on Great Impressions website until after the 1st of May but let me tell you these are CUTE! They let me purchase two of the stamps early and I had to make them up into a card right away...besides tomorrow is the workshop at Powdersville Community church from 10:00-3:00 and there are some cat lovers there who will love this stamp(s). As you can tell I had some extra time over the weekend and got some images colored that I have intended to do for awhile. This one is two Magnolia stamps. I stamped Tilda first, made a mask, and then placed the mask over the stamped image of Tilda. I then stamped the stack of books and she then appears to be sitting on the stack of books. This is a Penny Black "slapstick" stamp that I worked on last Thursday at our Laughing Stampers group. Finished it up this past weekend.

When doing this image I had one of my gray markers spring a leak and made a gray circle over the bunny's face. In case this ever happens to you this is what needs to be done. You remove both caps from the markers, holding it horizontal for a few seconds, and let it repressurize (balance out) between the two tips. Then I took my colorless blender (remember this is a color remover...not so much a blender) and I removed as much of the "gray blob" as I could.

I also made another mistake....I colored the bunny's paw on the left...green because I thought it was a leaf. Goofy me...so out came my colorless blender AGAIN, removed the green and then colored the paw gray. Now take a good look (click on image to enlarge) and tell me if you can see my mistakes?

Good morning bloggers and good morning spring! Had some sprinkles of rain this morning and threats of more but the flowers need to grow so bring it on...just nothing like the tornadoes that were experienced by North Carolina this week, please?

Well where did the time go? I have been very busy demoing Copics at the Mercantile, posting to the Art Impressions blog, completing my 20 watercolor samples of A Stroll Down Main Street (part of my Design Team responsibilities), teaching a watercolor and also a copic marker class at The Mercantile, and then today our usual Thursday card workshop at Powdersville Community Church. My week isn't over yet as my friend Micki and I will be leading a class on Saturday at the church on Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of Christmas 2010 (tag #3).
After the workshop today I went with friends to visit The Paper Rabbit in Greenwood, SC. What a nice shop with a large classroom. They want to learn about Copic Markers so they have asked me to start with a make and take on the second Saturday of June. I would of started in May but as they are only open on the second Saturday of each month, in May I will be in Columbus, Ohio getting my Intermediate certification in Copics. I am really excited about both opportunities along with the classes at The Mercantile in Pendleton, SC. Can you believe it!

I am so tired of the rain. We have had more than our share this spring but I can't complain because if it didn't rain we wouldn't have such an abundance of flowers and spring green color. I guess that is why when I saw this stamp from Penny Black I just "had" to have it. I love these "slapstick" stamps. They are made so well with deep cuts in the rubber and then since they are unmounted, easy to store. After our workshop on Thursday someone stamped this image of a bunny and asked me to color it when I had time. Well tonight it was right there on my desk....the desk that is now cleaned off so I could see it.
I have worked on and off all day, day #3, labeling, organizing, cleaning, tossing, sending stuff to storage and mostly putting things where they belong. So I figured I could take some time to play.. a little. So wa-la...here are my results! What fun!!

I apologize for the shadow on the card. I upload these on my printer scanner and if I add any embellishment the lid doesn't close so light gets in and interferes with the picture. The flower has a yellow glass bead in the center. The flowers were colored using the same Copic markers I colored the image. I punched the tulips with white card stock and then colored them with Copics.

On this card and the previous one I used a new paper which I purchased at Michael's. I will post more about this paper on Thursday. It's translucent, doesn't bleed, and blends very smoothly. It also doesn't soak thru. Since it is translucent it is the perfect paper for these bottles. The background paper is from Prima's Fairy Floral paper pad.

This is a Hero Arts stamp that I recently purchased. I have worked with this stamp before and love the way Copic markers show off and how easy it is to color. My scanner made the ribbon look like it's ribbed but it's not. It is solid organza ribbon. Also the papers didn't show up true colors. The light mat is really a green.

The center flowers were stamped on a scrap colored with markers and then cut out and popped up. After I cut out the flowers I edged them with R83 to eliminate the white edge.

Today I finished my samples that I send to Art Impressions as part of my commitment on the Design Team. If you would like any information as how I did these don't hesitate to leave a comment and I will post the answer. I will tell you that the background for these 4 cards were made using Co'ordination cardstock and embossing folders. I sanded the Co'ordination paper after embossing to bring out the lighter color underneath. Three of the four images were posted earlier with the Copic Markers I used. Got to rush to get these 20 samples into the mail. Any comments are much appreciated.

Supplies: #4 watercolor brush, palette, stamp positioner, masque pen, Marvy Uchida watercolor LePlume Markers: #8, 15, 17, 20, 29, 40, 43, 45, 72, 86, 96, 100, 101

Step 1a: Ink I-4030, Enchanting Manor and G-4032 Quaint Picket fence using #40. Ink G-4028 Ornate Lamp Post using #45. Using a damp brush, carefully pull the color out of the lines.

Step 1b: Using the Masque Pen or masking fluid cover the entire fence are and make dots along the side of the Manor and in front of fence to protect areas from color. Set aside and allow to dry completely. Color back of E-3381, Small Hanging Basket using colors #8, 15, 20 and 43. I didn't need a positioner as I was using unmounted stamps available from Art Impressions. Hang flower basket from lamp post. With a damp brush and light tapping motion blend colors gently. Brush color to Manor from palette using #96 and water for the roof. Use a mix of #29 and #86 with water for the windows and door. (Note: frames for windows are created by adding color to windows and leaving white space.)Brush color to chimney using #45 from palette.

Step 2a: Mix water and #15 on palette and brush on "green cloud" around Manor, lamp post and fence where greenery will be added later.

Step 2b: Ink AA-1366 Leaves (single leaf stamp)using #8 and stamp as shown. Soften with damp brush. Ink F-2055 Branches using #72 and stamp next to Manor over the Masque Pen dots. (Be sure to allow time for ink to absorb to the paper when doing this) Blend and soften with damp brush.

Step 3a: Ink A-893 Leaves using #72. Stamp as shown around Manor and fence.

Step 3b: When ink is dry rub off all Masking fluid to reveal white areas

Step 4: Mix #20 and a small amount of water on palette (the more water the lighter the color) Brush on color to white patches to create pink roses on bush and in front of fence line. Begin with a light pink and then add a darker center to the roses. Ink Jumbo Grass D-3010 using #15 and stamp around lamp post. Ink Teeny Tiny Grass AAA-1374 using #15 and stamp along front of fence. Soften with damp brush. Mix #45 with water on palette and brush in street. Mix #86 and water and lightly brush on color to sides of Picket fence panels.

Art Impressions A Stroll Down Main Street

Step 1. Ink G-4033 Charming Sign Post using Marvy Marker Sepia #45 Pull color out using damp brush size #4 or 5

Step 2. Color back of E-3381, Small Hanging Basket using Marvy Markers #8, 15, 20 and 100. I used unmounted stamps so a positioner was not necessary. Center hanging basket on sign. Blend with a very damp brush in a tapping motion. Add #45 sepia and water to sign post. Add color to sign using #17and water. Use AA-1382 Small Ivy and twine around post. Ink up only 2 flowers from AA-3017 using #86 African Violet and place along ivy.

Step 3. Use #15 to make green cloud under street sign. Add AAA-1374 teeny tiny grass using #72 pine green. Blend colors with damp brush. Add additional flowers using AA-3017 and #86 African Violet.

So sorry bloggers. I have been so sick with bronchitis. It really knocked me for a loop but I am completely recovered...no more coughing or sleeping my life away. My husband said, "when you start doing your art work again I will know you are better". Well I am back and having to play catch up. Today I am working on Art Impressions Project 8 A Stroll Down Main Street just released at Cha in January. It's awesome. I will be posting it later today. Please be patient with me. I have had this "bee" in my head since I first ordered and received this Magnolia stamp. Finally I had time to stamp the images.
1. Stamp Tilda on Copic paper.
2. Make mask of Tilda using masking tape wide roll used for water coloring.
3. Cover the stamped image of Tilda with mask.
4. Stamp Jar using a stamp positioner then remove mask.
5. Emboss edge of mat paper using embossing folder.
6. Color leaves and flowers using a stipple brush and ink.
7. Finish matting and embellishing.
8. Draw in squares using a ruler and color squares with B23.

After completing the front of the card I went looking in my stamp collection for an appropriate inside verse. I sure was surprised when I found this stamp I had purchased years ago and it fit the image perfectly. Don't you think so? Now to list all the "stuff" I used...

I finally got out of the house today and stamped at the church with the brave souls that ventured out with me.It was cold outside but warm and friendly inside. Micki and I worked on tag samples for the Tim Holtz tag class (free) at the church on Saturday. I am so looking forward to Saturday, being with friends and the weather is suppose to melt all the ice and snow AWAY! Get ready to GRUNGE!

We will start out with a refresher course on adding color to tags, then we will make a Valentine tag using distressing techniques. Lastly we will learn how to make our own stamp using fun foam and a die, which we will then make into a tag. There are at least 16 signed up for this class which we hope to continue every month on the 3rd Saturday.

I hope 2011 has started well for everyone. I have been busy finishing my samples for Art Impressions. My assignment this month was the "Windows on the World" stamps with an Easter theme. I love these miniature pieces of art. They were colored with copic markers. The sentiment around the Chapel window says "May Hope fill your days, joy fill your lives and love fill your heart".

This is the last Windows on the World card that I did this month. I like this one especially because of the perspective from a close up peak in the nest to the fields and trees in the distance and it is framed with pansies. Who doesn't like pansies? Not me. I love pansies. This was fun to color and I got to decorate the eggs!

I saved the best (I think) for last. Mainly because with the weather we are experiencing now who wouldn't want to "think Spring!" Can't you just picture the buds coming out, the leaves opening up and turning everything "Spring Green"! That's what I thought about as I colored these images. Getting Ready for 2011

Does 2011 seem odd to anyone else but me? Seems like yesterday (an old phrase but so true) that we were all worrying about the calendars changing from 1999 to 2000 and "shwish" here we are on the verge of 2011. Well I want to wish everyone a Happy Healthy and Prosperous 2011. Last year was full of ups and downs. A good friend choose not to be friends anymore. And I was fired from my volunteer job just when I was enjoying it the most. But God has replaced the losses with so many many good things. Our youngest daughter, Sarah, married the love of her life.I got reacquainted  with a cousin that I haven't seen for over 40 years! And his family live within driving distance. Our stamping group is meeting at our church, Powdersville Community Church at Exit 40, and having a good time. The church has been very gracious to us, letting us meet for free, and now I am ready for an announcement!
   Starting Saturday, January 15th at 10:00 am
   we will meet once a month to work on Tim Holtz
   Tags with Micki Switzer and myself leading the
   group.
   You are welcome to come and work on other
   samples if you do not want to do the tags.

Happy New Year

Christmas is over, the after Christmas sales have begun, and now we await the beginning of 2011. I am looking forward to new artistic experiences, new friends, and fun times with old friends.
1. I signed up for the Suzanne Dean classes in June on the 10th and 11th in Greenville.
2. We will be starting a new class at the church doing Tim Holtz tags and tentatively we are looking at the 3rd Saturday in January. More on that class in a later post.
3. I have been asked to teach at one store, and will be meeting with owners of another stamp store the first week in January.

The year 2010 was a year full of changes. I am not one to get bogged down in regrets. No regrets here. Thanks for a great 2010. It is a time to look forward and I just want to have my eyes, heart and arms wide open to the path my Lord has open for me. Wishing you and your's the best of health and happiness in 2011. Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas....to me!

Just had to write a short note here. I got a Christmas surprise last night. Yesterday afternoon my husband got a phone call and when he hung up he wouldn't tell me what it was about...just that we would be going somewhere later and it was a surprise....don't you just hate that! I want to know everything and right now...but I was patient and finally about 6:20 we got ready to leave. I felt like a kid..."where are we going?" "How long will it take to get there?". If you know my husband, he is a man of few...very few words. He was known as Clam, jr. in his family because he was just like his dad. Neither of them talked much.

It wasn't long before I knew where we going. Our church is at the end of a road. As we got closer I thought, "a Sunday school party at the church"....Well that thought didn't last long as the church was all dark; as was the parking lot. Then I could faintly see one car....it was my friends Micki and Russell. Now I was suspicious. Why all the secrecy if we were just meeting them to go to dinner and why at the church. David pulled into the parking space facing the church...and as the car lights shown on the door of the church, low it appeared!!

A new cabinet for storing our supplies for our Thursday group was sitting in front of the doors of the church with ribbon on the handles!! Y E A H!!! Now I don't have to pack up from home, unload at the church, at the end of the day pack up and load the car again and then unload when I get home!

Has anyone seen Santa?

My friend Micki S. and I have been doing Tim's Tags together as we gather the supplies. Each one is SOOOOOO much fun! The directions for making each tag is located on Tim's website under 12 Tags of Christmas. This one happens to be Day #5. The neat thing about this tag is that we used packaging material, clear plastic, cut to the size of the tag and then using the Texture fades embossing folder "Snow Flurries" we embossed the plastic and placed it over the tag, secured with brads in four corners. Go check out the directions on his website...you will love doing them. Considering the cold weather we have had lately here in "South" Carolina this little fellow is very timely. Hero Arts 3D Christmas trees

My friend Christine who lives in Georgia asked me to post this card. It is one that I did awhile ago for the store where I no longer work. It is in the Hero Arts catalog and I just tried to duplicate their sample.
It is a clear set.
1. I stamped each tree in the set (one large and two small) 3 times.
2, Cut each tree out cutting outside of the line.
3, Use the copic markers starting with the darkest green (G09) in the center.
4. Add the medium (G03) and then YG03 on the outside edges blending them all.
5. Color trunk using the browns. (E35, E39).
6. Score thru the middle of each tree from the top of the tree to the bottom of the trunk using the score-pal or tool of your choice.
7. Add adhesive to the back of each tree (I ran mine thru the Xyron create-a-sticker 1.5")
8. Join each tree together leaving one side open.
9. Adhere the trees to the front of your card.

10.Stamp and embellish.
note: The trees fold flat for mailing.

12 Tags of Christmas Tim Holtz

Ok....so I haven't posted for a few days but I have been busy stamping. Working on my Art Impression samples for December and hope to finish them up tomorrow. Then Tim Holtz started posting his 12 Tags of Christmas and I have had sooooooooo much fun doing the tags and the techniques and the challenges they pose.
I have completed 3 of the 5 tags so far. I wasn't able to do Tag #2 because I didn't have the stamp or any substitute I could use. Got it ordered on line for $16.95 with free shipping! Regularly costs $21.95. Not bad.

On tag #4 it called for a background of scrapbook paper that had a Santa on it. I didn't have this paper but I did have the stamp. I used a white #8 tag, stamped the Santa with Momento London Fog, colored it with Copic markers. Then I embossed the snowflakes using clear embossing powder to use as a resist. I used blue distress ink (stormy sky, faded jeans) to get the blue background. The snowflakes remained white because of the clear embossing powder. I followed the rest of the instructions by Tim Holtz for this tag.

Three Pumpkins

Happy Thanksgiving my friends! And what a lot I have to be thankful for. Top of my list is our grandson, Nick, returned from Afghanistan safe and sound this past December. He is a MP in the Marines and will not be deployed again. He gets out in June and is looking forward to continuing his education at a college/university in Texas. I love you Nick.
Sure I could list some things that are not good happenings but who wants to go there. There are so many other things to be thankful for. Like a marriage that has lasted 46 years. Three children happily married, self sufficient with education and good jobs, and healthy grandchildren all doing well. David and I are both in good health and pain free. That's a good thing at our age and at night I can lay my head on my pillow and sleep well, getting up in the morning rested and ready for another day. Yes, I got a lot to be thankful for. So, I found this sample I did a few weeks back and decided to post it for the occasion. I hope you like it. Don't forget to leave a comment...love to hear from you.

We had our weekly meeting today at Powdersville Community Church. There were 14 in attendance. Enjoyed the company of Marilyn McMimm McCredie, our favorite story teller, from Ashville, NC. This video is to demonstrate the new Martha Stewart "All over the page" punch but in it she also demonstrates how to tie on the ribbon and have it stay in place without any tape or glue. I was really impressed as I hadn't seen this done before. It is the reason I did this card...let me know what you think of it.

My computer was have "remote maintenance" performed last night so even though I finished this card last evening I wasn't able to post it until this morning. That is so weird to have someone working/using your computer and they are somewhere else...probably even in another country. But it's back now in my control so here you go.

Today is going to be difficult for awhile as this is the first Altered Book Club meeting at the store since my departure there.. I usually attend but since I am not allowed in the store I have planned a road trip with friends and we are going to Landrum, N.C. to check out "One Scrappy Chick". They are having good sales prior to closing the doors. I liked this store and always hate to hear of another scrapbook/stamping/paper crafting store being closed but I understand the reason and wish her God's blessings on her new endeavor.

Back to "Bella". (Rubbernecker stamp "Bella" 210-02) This is lady #3 of the 4 stamps I bought. I hope you like her....slightly different era. Reminds me of the 60's. She is stamped on Neenah Solar White using Momento Tuxedo Black. I colored her with Copic Markers: E000, E01, R02; E11, E13; BG11, BG34, BG45; C2. I distressed the edges with TH Distress Ink "Broken China" using the blending tool. Next I matted her on Glitter paper. The card base is Bazzil "Atlantic". I used an old border stamp from Paper Inspirations called "Ornamental Borders 3" LCS251 and I found it at this website. www.paperinspirations.com/.../LCS251-Ornamental-Borders )

I stamped the border in black next to the right edge of the card and then trimmed the right edge. A ribbon was added (a piece of scrap I found in my stash) that matched the dress and paper and a button out of my button jar. I clipped off the back before glueing the button down with "Fabri Tac". Love this glue. I added a strip of scrapbook paper that I thought matched the mood of the card on the inside to give contrast to the trimmed border.

This is today's creation....and did I have fun doing it. This is another Rubbernecker stamp I recently purchased. It is has been a beautiful fall day here in South Carolina and I hope yours as well. About my card, I first stamped it with Momento Tuxedo black ink on Neanah solar white cardstock and colored it using my Copic markers. I colored the dress and hat using E30, E33, and E35. The skin colors I used were E000, E02 and R02. I added R17 for lipstick and used BG000 for eye shadow. Her jewelry and handkerchief are colored using BG000 and BG01. Her hair I used W1. I shadowed the whole image using W2.

I trimmed the paper to 3.25" x 5" and used the Martha Stewart Deco corner punch (42-60001)and then used the
Blending applicator from Tim Holtz and the Distress Ink Tea Dye pad.to distress the piece. I used DMC cotton floss to add stitching to the corners by threading thru a embroidery needle. The Deco punch has two small holes on the inside base of the corner punch. I ran the thread thru these holes around the whole piece.

I pop dotted with Bazzil True Teal and the under mat was made using Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire Collection #4500107 and a dark brown cardstock. I scored the front and inside using the Scor-it and the corners were rounded on the True Teal and black base cardstock. The jewels are from Prima. #530488 SHP Strip Cream.

Inside I matted the edges with the same Graphic 45 Renaissance Faire Collection. The liner was cut 5" x 6-3/4" as per instructions for the Martha Stewart Punch around the Page "Embroidered Floral" 42-40061 (edge) and Embroidered Floral 42050031 (corner).

Oriental note

This is my 3am creation. Stamped the image on white card stock using black ink. Then I stamped it again on origami paper. I "fussy cut" just the kimono and parasol. I tinted her skin with Copic marker E00 and then glued the kimono and parasol over the stamped image.
